And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Imagine going before a powerful king/president to present your case before him knowing fully well that he has the capability to grant your request. You have the confidence that once you are able to meet with him you will get your request granted, infact there is a similar case in the bible where a widow went before a powerful judge. She didn’t give up until her request was granted, Luke 18:1. If a man who is limited can have compassion to grant a request put before him how much more our heavenly father. Confidence in God simply means firm trust in him that no matter what happens you believe God will answer your prayers.  The first step is finding out if your request is according to God’s will and if it’s his will then ask him. God never goes back on his word so if he said he’ll do it then he’s sure well able to do it. Rely on him, trust in him, have unwavering faith that your petitions today will be granted however you have to ensure there is no sin in your life (Psalm 66:18).

Prayer point: Father I thank you that you hear me when I pray, I come with the confidence that you can do all things and I ask that my petitions today (name them) will be granted according to your word in Jesus name. Amen
